All the States Should Do This

Fascinating story, even if a bit tongue-in-cheek. The Governor of Colorado asked the Governor of Texas to not legalize cannabis. Why? Because of the amount of revenue that the State of Colorado is getting from out-of-state visitors to the dispensaries. It’s too funny. Now if all the governors of all the states would say this, cannabis would become legal everywhere pretty quickly.

In this age, there’s absolutely no reason to not make adult use of cannabis legal. It’s way past time and we’ve been gaslit about this for over 100 years now.

Read the whole story here. It’s funny and it’s … there might not be a word for it in the English language!

I am in Illinois and our cannabis taxes are out of this world, its about 36-41% depending on the county so like many many cannabis people they go to Michigan where the tax is a flat 16%.

Interesting that the cannabis taxes are so high in Illinois. I’ve been traveling (safely in the time of COVID) a lot and I used my Michigan medical card in New Mexico. It’s really cheap here, usually less than $10/gram. CO is usually around $18-20/gram. Michigan is about the same price as CO, but as soon as cannabis is removed from Schedule 1, things will change. This is still a nascent market, so things will eventually change for the better in IL. I hope.
